Computer Industy's Newest Gadget Press Release on Yahoo! Shopping

Yahoo! News & Yahoo! Shopping picked up the PRNews.com press release entitled "Mouse Hand Warmer Mouse Pad Computer Industry's Newest Gadget."

Keeping your hands warm in the winter is important. When hands are exposed to cold they tend to experience pain, i.e. poor circulation pain, arthritic pain. If you work in a chilly environment, keep your hands covered, especially when you work, and the chances of feeling pain are minimized.

For example, if you work in a cold office, warehouse or field office, you may want to consider computer gadgets to help keep your exposed hands warm. Office temperatures are usually lower than home offices. Yet, you can still experience cold hands at home, too.

There are a number of known hand conditions which warrant attention when working in a cold environment. Some of the more common conditionsa are: Poor Circulation, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Arthritis, Raynaud’s, DeQuervain’s, Tendonitis or Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. To learn more about these conditions, search each of the topics on
Google.

I4U News keeps the mouse hand warm

from I4U News

It's certainly getting colder around the country; even here in Texas it has finally dropped into the mid to upper 70's and we can actually go outside without getting heatstroke. In some parts of the country where winter months get cold, winter is already in full swing. For people in cold climates with a mousing hand that gets too cold to work comfortably, the Mouse Hand Warmer is here.

The Mouse Hand Warmer is a pouch for your mouse and mouse pad to sit in made from a fleece material. You place a mouse pad into the pouch and it's like tossing a blanket aver the hand (which you could do and save yourself the money this thing costs). The gadget is 12 x 12-inches and comes in gray, black, or white colors.

"The Mouse Hand Warmer came about after spending over 12 years sitting at a computer working long, late hours with a very cold mouse hand," said Anna Miller, creator of the Mouse Hand Warmer. The Mouse Hand Warmer was made to solve the cold mouse hand problem. Once the Mouse Hand Warmer blanket was developed and used, it proved to solve the problem, and IGM decided to manufacture and sell the item to the computer accessories market.

Effects of repeated exposures to severely cold environments on thermal responses of humans

Slip your favorite mousepad and mouse inside this warm, fleece blanket to keep your mouse hand warm this winter.

Authors: Yutaka Tochihara a; Tadakatsu Ohnaka a; Kazuyo Tuzuki b; Yumiko Nagai c

Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different exposure rates on thermal responses with the total cold exposure time the same under each of the conditions. After resting in a warm room (25°C) for 10 minutes, six male students wearing standard cold protective clothing entered an adjoining cold room (— 25°C). Each 5-, 10- and 20-minute cold exposure was repeated 12, 6 and 3 times, respectively. Each cold exposure was followed by a similar duration of rest at 25°C. Total cold exposure time was the same under the three conditions. Rectal temperature, skin temperatures, blood pressure, 17-hydroxycoyticoids (OHCS), counting task and subjective responses were measured. At the end of the cold exposure skin temperatures in the shorter exposures were higher than those in the other conditions, except on the foot. Discomfort due to cold was less in the shorter exposures and manifestation of discomfort was delayed. However, there were no differences among the three conditions in the fall of rectal temperature and urinary excretion of 17-OHCS, which are good indices of cold stress, Moreover, increase in blood pressure and decrease in counting task due to cold were not different among the three conditions. Even though the cold exposure time for each stay was short, when cold exposures were repeated frequently, cold stress of the whole body and decrease in manual task performance were the same as in the longer cold exposure.
